Covering 1,200 hectares, the Bitterfeld-Wolfen Chemical Park is one of the largest areas for chemical and pharmaceutical companies in Europe and has been a leading production site on the continent for more than 120 years. The profile of today’s Bitterfeld-Wolfen Chemical Park is characterized by a chemical industry focusing on chlorine, phosphorus, dyestuff, pharmaceutical, fine and special chemistry. Well-known companies such as Bayer, AkzoNobel, Evonik, Lanxess, Dow et al. have already opted for the Chemical Park. More than 300 companies represent a wide range of suppliers, service providers and potential partners.

The Chemical Park concept, which is now practiced in various chemical sites worldwide, originates and was first implemented in Bitterfeld-Wolfen. After the political change of 1989/1990, the first Chemical Park was established here, allowing the manufacturing companies to concentrate on their core competences and primary processes to aim for a streamlined and cost-effective structure. All essential services are available in the immediate vicinity and can be ordered on demand.
