Ludwigshafen Verbund Site - more than just a chemical park
Today, the Ludwigshafen Verbund Site is the world’s largest integrated chemical complex under single management. Starting from a few raw materials, some 8000 sales products with a total volume of 8.5 million metric tons are produced here per year. Ludwigshafen is BASF’s biggest production Verbund: Production plants, energy and waste flows, logistics and infrastructure are closely linked with each other. This gives rise to efficient value-adding chains ranging from basic chemicals to highly sophisticated products.
Our Verbund: Your link to the future
BASF wants to further develop its Ludwigshafen production site and fully exploit its potential. This is why the company is looking for partners that fit into the production Verbund and want to benefit from its advantages. Companies from the chemicals industry as well as converters can enter into long-term partnerships with BASF at the Ludwigshafen site. For example: Construction and operation of own plants, joint ventures for building joint facilities, renting existing plants and buildings or using existing BASF production capacities through contract manufacturing or tolling.
Our experience: Your competitive advantage
BASF offers professional assistance in the whole co-siting process, from conception right through to the finished production plant. Additionally customers can take advantage of a variety of highly specialized and leading services like materials technology, analytics, mechanical engineering (i.e. rotating equipment, high pressure technology) and many more.
Tangible advantages for co-siting partners
An unique variety of basic products and intermediates can be supplied reliably with a minimum of logistic effort. Co-siting partners can manufacture their products directly in the Verbund, eliminating the need for expensive transport. Residues or byproducts can be utilized to produce valuable products: for example sulfuric acid from sulfur-containing by-products or steam from organic residues. Highly reactive products that are difficult to handle can be produced and processed safely in the Verbund system. Co-siting partners benefit from many decades of experience in handling sophisticated processes and substances like hydrogen cyanide, ethylene oxide and phosgene.
